Thanksgiving Feast

Thanksgiving came early to Zach's kindergarten. They have been preparing all of last week for their Thanksgiving party. Today was the day and complete with costumes and stories was a Thanksgiving Feast. We were assigned cookies and Zach wanted to take something really fun. I did some searching on the internet and found these really cute Turkey Cookies on the Betty Crocker website. They didn't look too hard (even for someone as uncrafty as myself), so we decided to take a chance and make them. Zach was thrilled and could hardly wait to get to school!

With a few candy corns, M&M's, and icing we managed to turn these sugar cookies into turkeys.

When we dropped him off for school, we helped him get the cookies inside. While we were standing outside his door, all of his friends wanted to see what he was holding and they were all oohing and aahing at the cookies. He was so proud and showed each of them what he had.

After school, he was so excited to get home and show us his costume. The whole class dressed up like pilgrims and indians. Zach was chosen to be an indian (apparently the whole class wanted to be, so they had to draw names out of a hat) and he got to wear the headband and vest. He looked so cute and he couldn't stop smiling.

Ah, school holiday parties - just the first of many to come.

You always say you are not crafty and can't do alot of things, but I am here to tell you, you are very very creative and can do so many good things! I am always impressed with your ideas, and the way you decorate your house up, you are really good at it! Stop saying your not!! I am excited to get Ash into all those fun class parties, it brings back so many fun memories when I was little! Looks like he had a very fun day!
